2007 JSCE Civil Engineering Design Prize Grand Prize Winner

TomadaDam

A project that we participated in, “Total Design of Tomata Dam Area”, won the grand prize of the 2007 JSCE Civil Engineering Design Prize. We had a hand in the design of every bridge that was involved with the construction, and were responsible for the detailed designs of certain bridges, such as the Nishiya Bridge, the Ukishima Pedestrian Bridge, and the Tomata Ohashi Bridge, which is the symbolic bridge of the reservoir (Okutsu Lake).

This is the seventh time for the JSCE to award this prize. Three grand prize winners, as well as seven prize winners, were selected from a pool of 31 entries that covered everything from bridges and rivers, to roads and parks. This project was the fifth winner that our company has had a part in. Others include “Kishamichi Promenade” and “The Shiga Route: Toward Ecological Coexistence” in 2001 (both grand prize winners), “Fureai Bridge” in 2002 (prize winner), and “Minami-Honmoku Bridge” in 2003 (prize winner).
