2009 JSCE Civil Engineering Design Prize Grand Prize Winner

A project that we participated in, “Shintoyo Bridge”, won the grand prize of the 2009 JSCE Civil Engineering Design Prize. This is the ninth time for the JSCE to award this prize. Three grand prize winners, as well as four prize winners and one encouragement prize winner, were selected from a pool of 21 entries that covered everything from bridges and rivers, to roads and parks.

We were responsible for a wide array of tasks, including the designs of the main bridge, managerial support for the landscape committee, and overseeing the crosslinking construction.
This project was the sixth winner that our company has had a part in. Others include “Kishamichi Promenade” and “The Shiga Route: Toward Ecological Coexistence” in 2001 (both grand prize winners), “Fureai Bridge” in 2002 (prize winner), “Minami-Honmoku Bridge” in 2003 (prize winner), and “Total Design of Tomata Dam Area” in 2007 (grand prize winner.
