A project that we participated in, “Shin-Shimantogawa Bridge”, won the 2012 JSCE Civil Engineering Design Prize.
The JSCE Civil Engineering Design Prize is awarded to a select number of people and organizations that have contributed to projects involving public spaces and structures, particularly those that realize the creation of landscapes or help to preserve them. This is the twelfth time for the JSCE to award this prize. Two grand prize winners, as well as two prize winners, and one encouragement prize winner, were selected from a pool of 10 entries.
This project was the ninth winner that our company has had a part in. Others include “Kishamichi Promenade” and “The Shiga Route: Toward Ecological Coexistence” in 2001 (both grand prize winners), “Fureai Bridge” in 2002 (prize winner), “Minami-Honmoku Bridge” in 2003 (prize winner), “Total Design of Tomata Dam Area” in 2007 (grand prize winner, “Shintoyo Bridge” in 2009 (grand prize winner), “Kawasaki Muza Deck” in 2010 (prize winner), and “Hamamirai Walk Footbridge” in 2011 (prize winner).
